I just want to start the week off right.

Maybe this will help….

Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within me. – Psalm 51:10

“God loves each of us as if there were only one of us.” – Augustine

Instead, God chose things the world considers foolish in order to shame those who think they are wise. And he chose things that are powerless to shame those who are powerful. God chose things despised by the world, things counted as nothing at all, and used them to bring to nothing what the world considered important. As a result, no one can ever boast in the presence of God. – 1 Corinthians 1:27-29

“Characteristics which define beauty are wholeness, harmony, and radiance.” – Thomas Aquinas

“The good Lord gave you a body that can stand most anything. It’s your mind you have to convince.” – Vince Lombardi

Have a blessed week, friends 🙂

Oh sweet friend, I love the Scripture. Such wisdom we can learn when we spend time in the Word. And the quotes were great too. Thank you for your visits and comments to me on Heart Choices. You always bless my heart. I smile every time I see your name; Jottin Mama. I pray that you are enjoying your little ones.

    Love you,
    Debbie

  2. Just stumbled across your blog for the first time today. What a blessing!
After 10 years in the work place, I'm a relatively new stay-at-home mom to a 3-year-old girl, a 19-month-old boy, and (anytime now) another baby girl who has kept me on bedrest for over a month now.
Your post is a needful reminder of where I should "go" first, when I'm weary and when I have the least time. God promises to be all we need!
PS: I love your remarks in the "greetings" section–so cozily inviting! 😉

Who knew Vince Lombardi was so smart!!

This is a good one, I only wish it was easier to convince my mind of this truth. I think my mind often tries to use my body as a scapegoat for when it's feeling weak! It fibs and says "Boy, you're tired" or "ouch, my back!" to try and trick me into letting it rest awhile!

    Thanks Melissa Sue!

I think I really like the word "steadfast" being there as well, though! Thanks for bringing that translation to my attention! I tend to be anything but steadfast – so asking God to renew a steadfast spirit in me would be very helpful. LOL.

    Awesome.

    Have a great week!

I love the translation of the Psalms verse with the word "loyal." I've always heard it (and read it) with the word "steadfast" there, but I love the idea of asking God to help me to be loyal to him. I like to think I'm a loyal friend to many, but most of all I'm loyal to myself. Here's to a week filled with loyalty to God. Thanks for the encouragement!
