Nothing sturdies a shaky heart like getting a word from God.

So we’re just gonna jump right into the deep tonight, kids.

3 Things Encouraging Me in the Scriptures

1.) Matthew 8:1-3

When he came down from the mountain, great crowds followed him. And behold, a leper came to him and knelt before him, saying, “Lord, if you will, you can make me clean.” And Jesus stretched out his hand and touched him, saying, “I will; be clean.” And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.

Know what I love about this? The sick man says “If you will, you can make me clean.” And Jesus says, I will.”

This is Jesus. He was always willing. Willing to be stopped, inconvenienced, questioned, approached. This makes me love Him.

2.) Psalm 3:3

But you, O Lord, are a shield about me,
my glory, and the lifter of my head.

The lifter of my head is what speaks to me most. I have to be intentional about getting my gaze off the ground, so knowing that He places His hand under my chin to help me raise it back up again, is a gift to me.

3.) Psalm 91:1-2

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.”

A Shelter

A Shadow

A Refuge

A Fortress

In later verses of the same psalm God is…

A Deliverer

A Cover

A Shield

A Buckler

A Dwelling Place

A Commander

When I feel fear (which is a lot) I need to keep this list in front of my face. You do too. Find a copy of Psalm 91, read it and receive it and pray it and keep it tucked away in the crevices of your heart so that you may know it when it’s needed. Just typing out this list fills me with peace and courage, and I pray it does the same for you as you read it.

A glance and study of your own of these passages will not let you down and will never be a waste. Before I push publish on this post, I’m praying that each searching soul who seeks Him in these scripts will absolutely find Him there.

Thanks for tuning in, friends.

Let faith arise.
